Islamic Calendar 2026

The Islamic (Hijri) calendar is a lunar calendar used by Muslims to determine the dates of religious observances such as Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. It has 12 months of 29 or 30 days, so each Hijri year is about 10-11 days shorter than a Gregorian year.

This tool shows the approximate Gregorian start and end dates for every Hijri month that overlaps with the year 2026. It is calculated mathematically using the hijri-converter library.

Important: The exact start of each month depends on local moon sighting, which may shift the date by one day. Confirm important religious dates with your local mosque or Islamic authority.

Formula

For each Hijri year/month:
  toGregorian(hy, hm, 1) -> month start
  toGregorian(nextHy, nextHm, 1) - 1 day -> month end
Filter months overlapping 1 Jan 2026 to 31 Dec 2026.

Example

1447 AH / Ramadan 9: Approx start = 18 February 2026. Approx end = 19 March 2026.
